Our weekly meetings offer us the opportunity to meet others in the same position as ourselves for a coffee and a chat.
We have monthly sessions of yoga, exercises and therapy. Most of us find yoga remarkably beneficial and we have two therapists who provide reflexology and reiki
We now have a fitness trainer who has experience of working with people with MS and other critical illnesses. She understands our varying needs and limitations.
In the meantime we'd love to hear from a physio who may be interested in joining us here to help at other meetings.
Around three times a year we have lunch out at a nearby pub or garden centre Once or twice a year we go to a show at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking on a Wednesday afternoon. We have a Christmas meal in December. We also have the occasional talk, which may or may not be MS-related.
We have some splendid volunteer helpers for our meetings and this help includes providing lunch for the members. We'd also like to hear from volunteers who have time to spare on a Thursday morning/lunchtime.
We recognise, from personal experience, the difficulties facing someone who has just been given a diagnosis of MS. It's a most difficult time, especially if one's doctor has not had the time to explain much or answer questions.
Having others to talk with who have been through the same experience can be very helpful and we're glad to be able to offer this support.
